woot! just got an email congratulating me on being selected to be an undergraduate teaching assistant next semester! :D Will be TA'ing for General Anthropology (ANT 100), an introductory class to the major, should be fun!

hmmm....seeing that my last post was pretty much years ago, I'd like to write a lengthy update about my life thus far for everyone I haven't been able to keep in contact with lately. I'll plan on doing that later tonight or tomorrow as I'm going to be super busy tonight with class, work @ mcals until 7, a rush event, choir practice, more choir practice, then going with some of my brothers to camp outside best buy tonight for WotLK, lol.

I've really been having fun lately hanging out with new friends, letting go of my reserved nature and discovering more about myself with each passing day.

wow its been almost a year since i last updated, i think im going to start using this thing again, i feel like i've lost touch with alot of friends, and with facebook's upcoming demise due to acceptance of 'applications' like myspace, i think this might be a nice thing to start up again, does anyone still use LJ??

the moving truck is being loaded as we speak and i'm leaving any minute for college woot! for those of you i visited at band camp, it was fun and goodluck, the marching was looking nice, and those of you i missed i'm sorry and i'll definitely see you sometime in the next few months!

im gonna hook up my computer first thing when i get there so i should have AIM back up (sddrapalik517) but it would be totally awesome if you guys could leave me a bunch of messages and comments for me to read while i'm setting up my dorm miles away!

definitely please keep in touch with me, u can find me on AIM 24/7, myspace, facebook, and livejournal occasionally, but if you want actually contact feel free to mail me at my dorm (i love snail mail and will always write back) or call me up, i'll literally be back every month until december, then about every 2-3 after that, so i hope to run into you sometime. I'll post everytime i'm planning on coming back so be sure to read any bulletins i post here.

I wish every the best of luck in the new school year, dont do anything stupid, always work hard, and never give up on your dreams.

wow, well i just got back from spending the last two nights at Illinois State and it was very eventful, here are just a few highlights.

-Decided to pursue a Double Major in Anthropology and History.
-Finding out that there are 3 archaeological field schools offered for summer work, kansas, montana, and Ireland.....dont even have to try to guess which one i want :)
-Bowling and Billards center
-getting my student id
-most likely getting the laptop i want tonight
-choosing classes and making them fit.
-choosing to take the max about of classes available and special permission granted to take an extra to fit in Madrigals and Pep Band.
-Sad that i wont be in the "Big Red Marching Machine" as they do their show this year of videogame medleys (megaman, zelda, halo, mario bros, etc) and going to Ireland to march in St. Patricks Day parade
-Spending a night in the dorms
-placed awesome in math classes but still not taking till spring :D
-only having one class on tuesday and thursday
-AWESOME food
-actually taking a good picture for my school ID, ask me and i'll gladly show you!
-seeing how Ashely Puenner's school (Illiois Wesleyn) is like 1 minute away, (carpools, eh? eh?)
- playing fun games and meeting new people
-getting to spend time walking around on the quad, amazing campus and awesome architecture on all buildings, lots of trees and ivy

and who could forget

-LOTS of really cute girls (its seriously like 4:2 ratio)


my classes that i chose for this fall semester is as follows:

ENG 101 Composition and Critical Inquiry

not gonna give any times just for my own personal safety and all that, but i can say wednesday is my busiest day but tuesday and thursday i only have 1 class, so its nice :)

Woot! the new Flogging Molly CD was released today...er, rather re-released, it was one of their firsts that was discontinued but finally re-released. Its not done in a studio but rather live which is interesting, but its fun cause it has the raucous and crazy pub atmosphere. 10/10, go get it!

wow long time no post.

musical practice is strangely fun in many way, especially all the dancing. I guess i should start working out again due to some crazy manuevers like spinning with Beth Cotter jumping into my arms.

FIRST SEMESTER IS OVER!!!! i can finally breathe!!!! The only dilema i have next smemester is whether i should stay in AP spanish with lutter, move down to lower spanish level (with lutter -_-), or just drop spanish period, any suggetsions? I wouldn't like coming close to failing that class again

anyways, 4 day weekend! i'm hoping to have lots of fun

anyone else notice how really nice it is outside, i love spring :)

so i'm back from my first paintballing experience and i must say it was awesome! played about 10 games with 4 on 4 teams. My cousins were good and i only got shot out in like 4 games so it was pretty good. My fatalities include:

*shot to the leg
*shot to the head
*shot to the face (lower mask)
*shot to the right eye (covered my mask view)
*shot to the groin (ouch)
*shot to the foot

only a few stung. i must've shot steve like 4 times tho it was fun to shoot someone then see that they've been hit and be called out. for those of you who think it hurts, the initial shot depending where you get hurt only stings for like 2 seconds but then it goes away, that is i also had 3 or 4 layers of clothes on to protect me :)

it was fun, and i'll definitely go again someday!

got the new graphics card in my computer, after a bunch of spyware, virus scans, and a freakin' long defrag i put the new games on the computer and OMFG! the new graphics card makes the games sooooo fast and puts it on the best quality. I played Call of Duty 2 last night and it rocked! The sounds of shells going off as machine guns fire all around you, even has war documentaries to each battle as intro's, so freaking cool. And my whole clan of mates in Dublin moved up to COD2 also, we have our own server and everything, soooo freakin' great. Can't wait to try these other games with all the computer upgrades!!!!

instead of the 30g iPod my funds are a bit short right now at $262 i'm wondering if i should just go for the iPod nano, any comments, suggestions about this or should i just wait to raise the money for the video ipod like planned?....oh this problem confounds me.

oh! and i'm going paintballing for the first time ever tomorrow with my little cousins and their dad, it's gonna be sweeet, i'll shoot steve alot i bet, mwahaha, hope it doesn't hurt too much.

last night's escapades were soo fun. Started out at Dan's house (halveys' friend) playing LOTR risk with halvey and dan, watched dan set up his own WoW account, showed halvey my WoW Alliance T-shirt that i got for xmas, hehe. Then played risk for a while til Samantha came over, she gave me a xmas present, a sweet red sweatshirt that i love, i think it makes me look good ;), have gotten many compliments on it, thanks sam! then at 9:45pm me sam mike dan and another friend of dan and mike, he was a hilarious kid, all went to go see narnia again. That went till about 12 something, then it was off to White Castle, nothing beats chicken rings at 1am, lol. it was a fun night full of laughter!, action!, drama!, and everything in between.

My dads getting the new graphics card in our computer so i'll be able to play the 3 new games including WoW on the upstairs computer now :). Also should be getting my 30g black video iPod soon, best buy was out of them so waiting till new shipment. Is anyone having new years parties? cause i pretty much am free as of new years eve...eh? ....ehh???

what a wonderful christmas eve and christmas, i was feeling better so i got to enjoy eve. We went to our cousins house that night to open presents on xmas eve (tradition), i got to see my little cousin Giovanni share his first christmas eve, funny and cute kid. good church service, and this mornning, GIFTS!! Got some great presents, more than i need including:

*Leather Jacket
*Pokemon Red :) (lost the old one years ago)
*a new video/graphics card, 128MB rather than the 64MB woot!
*my own USB bus drive 512MB baby!
*Age of Empires III -PC
*Cd of Gregorian Chant (so amazingly cool)
*A DVD of Irish Trad Music
*250+ $$$ for personal use

and one gift that steve gave me that i love and i wanna see the look on Halvey's face when i wear it around him, hehehe.

*well i'm off to my grandmothers house to open more presents, then back to my house for yet another christmas party and yes...more presents! call me and we'll hang out, i'm feeling much better!

an excerpt of something i was writing for world lit, i was experimenting with creating succesfull effects of imagery, sounds pretty good so far but i need to twink it a bit

"The cold winter air stoked its bitter and icy grip about Michael’s scarf, sending a deep chill through his very soul; a harbinger into the storm of flurries to come. He walked down the abandoned city streets, pulling his denim jacket tighter in hopes to evade the increasing winter wind to no avail. As the young boy walked past the department store windows, the luminescent glow of the window displays caressed the snow, revealing the cobblestone of the city’s streets, now empty and silent, a refuge from the chaos of everyday life…"

so i went and saw Narnia tonight and it totally rocked. In fact my whole day was pretty fun, hung out with dan mccormick, dan, steve, and i were supopsed to go bowling with OA but too full and too much $ so we decided to hitch out and pay a visit to the downtown woodstock Starbucks, mmmm. the Carriage rides were at the square! i thougth they were over with, shoot! then went back to dans and played Sting Pong (a painfully fun variant on the traditional game). Then off to help with a church retreat that morning and Narnia with nackers, joanna, the little ones, steve and teresa.

The movie was better than i expected even relating alot of stuff to other things in my mind which i found funny including WoW (which i can play again after my grounding and re-patching the entire system due to patch error woot!)

*pretty close eh? lol.

alot of the tolkien esque themes made me happy seeing how CS Lewis and tolkien were both buds and kept in touch via letters detailing each others works to each other for critique and the strong christian themes of Narnia really came out which im proud of, overall a great movie, perhaps i shall have to go see it again

So many movies, so little time, but i did get a regal crown club card, free popcorn on tuesdays, nice!
